The Official Blast Off!
After re-branding at the beginning of the year, it was important to us as a business to announce that our re-launched business is in place and ready to strengthen our already excellent reputation. As such, launch events were held in both Leeds and Newcastle to announce our transformation and our commitment to excellence to the business community.
Our launch event in Newcastle was held on January 31st, and despite the high winds and cold weather we had a great turnout, collectively marvelling at our ability to turn the building pink (our new signature colour) for one night. The re-launch gave us the opportunity to reflect on our successes over the past 50 years and discuss our hopes for the future. Several of the attendees on the night were people we have been associated with for some time and we had pleasure in sharing our memories and relaxing together as friends as well as colleagues. Lindsay Gibson, who has been a member of the _space family for many years, commented:
“Having travelled a long journey with Waring and Netts, and gone through the transition to _space, moving into the new building has opened even more doors for us. It’s a very exciting time to be here.”
The event gave many of our Clients, both new and old, an opportunity to view our new Newcastle base. The old Sage building in South Gosforth, which we have re-christened ‘Spaceworks’ has undergone a massive transformation since we have taken it over. The corporate colour scheme that once lined the building’s hallways has been banished forever to the 90s, where it belongs. In its place are some bold and exciting interventions _space have been able to make. The interiors are a palate of pink, lime green, textured black and our new _space barcode that incorporates all of these colours and blue, beige, grey and purple to boot. Our new meeting rooms are relaxed whilst retaining an air of authority, our office space is comfortable whilst engendering an atmosphere of work and the bistro-style café we’ve brought into the atrium has completely transformed the space.
On March 6th, we officially launched in Leeds. This event wasn’t only a celebration of how far we’d come and our new home in Leeds, but also a chance for some _space people to meet the business community first hand, an opportunity that not everyone has had due to our busy schedules.
The evening was hosted in the fashionable Waterside bar, next door to our Leeds office, which afforded us a large reception space and the use of a small piano to entertain our guests with. Showing off our office in Leeds was important to us too, and as such the office (lit up in pink for the occasion) was open for tours all night, allowing _space people and Clients to take a lingering look at the work we’re producing in Leeds and admire this modern and stylish venue that is part of Leeds’ up and coming Brewery Wharf; a commercial district that is fast becoming a very desirable locale.
Representatives from both offices came together to put on a good night’s worth of entertainment and it was rewarding to see many people who hadn’t met until that day working together harmoniously. This should be seen as a reflection of the kind of people that choose to work with us; happy, charming and dedicated individuals who take pleasure and satisfaction in their work. Now that our new presence has been officially announced in the community, the sky’s the limit.
