Swinburne House

Swinburne House

This new 9,000ft2 house has been designed at Swinburne in Northumberland on the ancient site of the previous 18th Century house, which was demolished in the 1960s. Accommodation is over two floors in the new house and within a restored and converted Grade II* listed Georgian wing which includes a large central hall, drawing room, library, sitting and dining rooms with nine bedrooms and bathrooms en-suite. A Grade II* listed orangery connected to the house was also restored and converted to a large kitchen with a conservatory, located at the west end of the house.

The new house has all the advantages of double glazing, highly insulated structure and underfloor heating, but has been designed in a Georgian style, sensitive to its setting and to the listed wings on either side.
