Pelaw Metro Station
This scheme was part of the refurbishment programme for the Tyne and Wear Metro System, which was originally built 20 years ago. The development involved the complete rebuilding of the metro station waiting room and ticket area, using a futuristic design concept.
Throughout the lifetime of this project, a fully operational station had to be maintained which meant that the design team had to achieve a great understanding of all Nexus’ rules and regulations for such works and had to deal with the inherent complexities of working with the existing structure.
